I disassembled my Glenfield lever action 30-30 to clean. Before knowing the proper cleaning/breakdown procedure I loosened a couple screws and mistakenly took one out. Now the screw wont go back in flush. I attached a pic of the screw I am talking about and think it is the "trigger guard plate support screw. It is located on the opposite side of the ejector port and is above the screw to take off the lever. HELP!

ps I know I am an idiot for doing this the way I did. I should have learned how to properly do this before taking out screws.

You should be able to squeeze the trigger plate up into the receiver and put the screw back in. Try with lever open, maybe remove the bolt and put hammer down. Watch you don't cross thread it.

the plate and receiver are lined up. Unfortunately I think i may have screwed up the threads. Hopefully one of the local gun shops can fix it.

There are two screws that are very similar on a Marlin / Glenfield. Look at the screw on the bottom of the trigger plate near the forearm. Did you swap them? Long in front, short on the side.
I hope it's this simple.
