Well I got a new toy today...Bushmaster XM 15, M4 style A3 and went to making up some rounds for it. Well as I finish the first 50 I remember something about Remington primers and a warning about certain caliber. Well low and behold I primed the 50 of them with 61/2's....Bummer, looks like I am shooting all factory tomorrow...but at least I get to play with the new toy.

IMO you are correct in not shooting those 6 1/2 primers in an AR-15. If you have a bolt action rifle in .223 they are just fine. (or any other bolt action caliber which uses SRP)

I knew about the pistol restrictions but figured I would check these as well. Just a little late after priming the 50 cases. I have a buddy that can use the primers so at least they aren't a complete waste....

On the bright side, 50 rds ain't all that bad. At least ya didn't load up a few hundred pistol cartridges before you found your error.

Every silver lining has got to come with a cloud.

Yeah I don't have the shell plate so I was working on my single stage so I didn't get very far. I don't use small rifle on anything else so other than that I need to go back to the store and I won't get a chance to work them up today no big deal....
