ive been thinking on this long and hard. i think a semi auto would be a smarter thing to get. not just based on cost and ammo, but on overall need. dont really shoot a rifle for recreational fun per se. just to keep my skills.

im curious on this. im looking at the buds website and there are alot of lower under 400 dollar semi autos, in 9mm and 40 and a few in 45. most are 3-4.75 inches. in that 'easy to carry duty sized krframe with a 3 inch barrel' area.

The best? Really? You've been here long enough to know that there's no such thing. "Best" is completely subjective to person, place, availability, ability, circumstance, and so on.

Asking about every gun and ammo caliber available is just plain lazy.
