Sears and Roebuck Shotgun

I have a relative that wants to sell me his Sears Ranger 16 ga. Bolt action shotgun! Any idea what this may be worth! He says its in excellent condition!
That is all the info I have on it for now! Any help out there would be appeciated!
He's asking 75.00

Probably about right.

They were made by Savage, Stevens, and others.

There is absolutely no collector interest in bolt-action shotguns, especially 16 ga ones, and they don't bring much money.

I haven't been looking so I dont know, is there much 16 gage ammo around?
Everything I've seen is either 12 or 20.

But it is getting harder and harder to find 24 and 32 ga. Midway still carries some by Fiocchi.

Yes, 16 ga ammo is still around, but you can expect to pay at least twice the going rate for 20 or 12 shells most places.

50-75 is about right, those are great guns for actual hunting, and 16ga can be found fairly easy depending on where you live. Here in the midwest, Wal-Marts will often have common #6-#8 birdshot in 16.

Enjoy the gun if you buy it, 16ga is a good all around shotgun!

I'm new to this forum--but have been a firearms enthusiast for quite a long time. I owned a bolt action shotgun once. I can't remember the manufacturer--but it was a real clinker. The box magazine kept falling out. and it had feeding problems. I bought it used, and was glad to get rid of it.

If the gun has a tubular magazine, then I wouldn't hesitate to pay $75 for it, or even a bit more. I had one of those guns until about a year ago. I sold it for about $95 if I remember correctly.

The gun worked fine. Made a great slug gun with the 28" modified barrel.
