so I began loading 223 55gr v max last night with new rem brass and set the rcbs seating die to where there directions said for no crimp. I noticed I was still getting a smidge of roll crimp so I backed the die off a bit more until it didn't crimp.

Is there any issue with doing this?

I was just making sure it wouldn't seat the bullet out of spec or something like that by lifting the die higher for no crimp. the directions said 1 full turn out for no crimp but it still slightly crimped it so I went 1/8 or so out more.

If you unscrew the seater die a smidge, you need to screw in your seating stem a smidge to keep the same overall length...

There could be a issue if your shooting a semi rifle. Try it and see.
That is not correct. I have a feeling you are thinking of the sizing die.

OP, you did nothing wrong backing out the seating die just enough to prevent crimping. Your original adjustment was probably off slightly and you mearly corrected it. Like said above, be sure you also correct the seating depth to your wanted OAL and you are fine. Not to worry.

yep I already backed the stem all the way up and then to where it touched a bit and im at 2.250.

thanks guys. wasn't sure if I did a boo boo or not.
