If the seating depth for the load I am loading is 1.135" and some of them come out 1.131" is this an issue I should fix or is it ok. If it is ok what are the tollerances if there is any on seating depth? Thanks for any info

es aright.

good question, the wiggle room is around .020 at most. Used published lengths if available, as every bullet has a different length. Most equipment has a .005 variance, it would seem yours is in that range.

My 2nd Edition "Modern Reloading" indicates of cartridge drawings that maximum allowable dimensions are specified, allowing for the cartridge to fit "any standard chamber". Per that information, 1.135 is the maximum overall length according to the book for 40 Smith and Wesson cartridges. A 'MIN OAL' or "Minimum Overall Length" is listed for and varies by each type of powder and bullet weight. I would suggest that you go off of the data you're using from a reloading handbook, and stay above the minimum overall length for the specific powder / charge / bullet you're loading, and below the maximum overall length of 1.135.

What is your load? 1.135 is the MAX OAL for .40SW I'm kinda surprised that a load has this as the MIN AOL as well
