Ok so I was reloading some 115 gr 9mm today with Titegroup. I’ve found that my 9 works well loading 3.8 gr of titegroup using the hornady data with an OAL of 1.075 with 115gr XTP’s. I’ve shot with this data in the past and it worked great. Today though I was seating and two gullets came out with the OAL of 1.065 and the other 1.062. The rest came out at the desired OAL I was going for. Will these two bullets be dangerous to shoot since they are that far under what hornadys book says? Or will they be okay to shoot? The main reason I ask is because its Titegroup . Thanks for the help.

A .013 change in a case that small would get the hammer and reset. I agree it's a very lite charge as I load 4.0 at 1.090 by the bucket full regularly for my son to practice with. That amount of variation in my room would result in an all stop and finding the cause.

3.8 a starting load, not at max pressure. Max pressure is 35,000 psi.

QuickLOAD estimates an increase of pressure of 1,849 psi when the OAL goes from 1.075" to 1.062".

Even if you started at max pressure that small increase would still be less than the 9mm +P pressure limit of 38,500 psi.

You're safe.

The first from Hodgdon and the second from Hornady. You’ll be just fine with the shorter rounds, but I would try and find out what the issue is - bullet variation or timing at the taper crimp. Nothing to worry about, but aberrations should be checked out.
