Hi all from Australia,

Am about to start reloading for my Mossberg ATR .308 but am confused about setting up my Lee loader to give me the right seating depth.

If I need an oal of around 2.8, what is the best way of adjusting the stop collar and lock nut to give me the right depth. Is it a matter of trial and error and making some dummy rounds til I get the right oal or is there an easier way.

All suggestions appreciated. I intend to make up some varmint loads using 110g Hornady Vmax.

Thanks, Steve. :)

Welcome to the Forum, Steve

Do you have a live round on hand? Hopefully about 2.800" long?
Set that in the body and use it to adjust the stop collar on the seater stem.
Best to set it a little long, maybe 2.900". It's easier to keep adjusting the collar to seat the bullet a little deeper, it's HARD to draw the bullet back out.

I could never get those 110g bullets to be very accurate in 30-06, but you may do better in 308. After you shoot a few and get good groups, please let us know your secrets.

Go have fun, SteveV!
