Does anyone know if I can use the Hornady MicroJust Seating Stem in my RCBS 357 Carbide die set? My set-up is a Hornady LnL AP Press with the RCBS carbide dies. I want to pull the seating stem and replace it with the Micrometer accessory that Hornady has. I'm trying to eliminate buying another die (Hornady's New Dimension) since I already have RCBS. THANKS!

No. I have a couple of different generations of RCBS seating dies and neither of seating stem threads are the same as the Hornady Micro Adjuster.

Also, the Hornady uses a multi piece seater arrangement. The lower part floats and holds the bullet in alignment as the presses is raised. When the seater touches the adjuster stem, the bullet seats. There is a captive ring built in the die to keep the seater from falling out the bottom.

There is no bullet seater part as part of the adjuster.

Hope this makes sense.

No you can't. I have one that I use on my 9MM Hornady seater. As cfullgraf posted, it is threaded differently than older and newer RCBS dies.

I like the Hornady seaters. The only thing better is the Redding. Easier to read. I used a magic marker to highlight the tiny lines and numbers on the Hornady stem.

I guess my best bet is buy the Hornady New Dimension Die along with the Micro Seater, I'd go with Redding but it doesn't crimp and that puts me out of space on the LNL
Any other advice certainly welcome, Thanks guys, just got it setup this last week, just doing some fine tuning.

I'm running the 3 RCBS then also RCBS Powder Cop, I can eliminate the expander and go with the Hornady on the powder drop, one problem, almost everything I'm after is on backorder, everywhere. Business must be good for Hornady, took 2 months to get the press, but then I got it for $350+shipping then the bullets, can't beat it.
