I recently bought a Glock 22, and now I am hooked. I am looking to buy another handgun soon but I am not sure what to get. I am looking at Sig p229 in .40 or .357 sig or a Sig P239 in 9mm. I have also thought about some kind of Heckler and Koch but I'm not sure what model or caliber. I want somehting a little more compact in case Wisconsin ever gets concealed carry.

If you are thinking about something on the compact side and the 239 is on your list, that seems like a logical choice. It also comes in 9mm, which is cheaper to shoot. I don't own one, but lots of folks love the 239 for carry.

Being a SIG carrier and user - I do reckon the 229 and 239 also are worth considering as they could well suit your size options.

I also reckon that a used SIG if not actually abused will be a first class deal. For economy and capacity I would go 9mm - bit more controllable too.

I have no H&K but they do also carry a pretty good rep'.

I've never heard anyone else make this comment about the Sig, but it was significant to me. The Sig's controls happen to be in a different place on the left side than most other semi-autos. I sold my 228 for that reason. For me, I made the commitment to learn one manual of arms and I didnt' want to confuse it. That's the same reason I own only one 1911 and don't carry it for defense. Not because it's bad, just 'cause it's different.
