Security Six/GP100 Parts Question!!!

Hey all! I just obtained a nice 2 1/2 barreled stainless Security Six, only to have a question.

It is the adjustable sight model and serial is 159xxx, will the sights from the GP100 fit these?

I ask as this is my toting around mohaska and wouldn't mind some night sights just in case the bad dudes are too far for point shooting!

I have no experience with the GP100 but guessing I would say no. As for your Security Six the actual BBL lenght is 2 3/4".

all of rugers rear adj sights are the same except the SA flattops (i think)& the front sight on a GP are the interchangeable but i don`t think so on the Security six, pinned on from the sides ??

The Security Six front is pinned from the side and the rear blade is the same as the SA's I just put a white outline on mine last week.

Late-production Security Sixes do indeed use the same rear sight as the GP100. I don't remember the serial number at which this change occurred, however, but do remember researching it on the 'net several years ago. The sight assembly will fit regardless; the critical dimension is the heights of the front blade and rear leaf.
