I have ordered one of the Australian return Security Sixes from Buds and am looking forward to getting it and shooting it. I have never owned a double action Ruger, always having owned Smith & Wessons in double action. I have a BK grip adapter on my Model 10 and love the way that it feels in the hand. The BK website says that they have heard you can use one of their D frame Colt grip adapters on the Security Six. Have any of you guys done that and did it fit well?

I know the Tyler T grip #8 will fit the Security/Service Sixes, although from what I hear it may be problematic actually getting one from them.
I just recently recieved my Austrailian Service Six from Buds, (I'm thinking your isn't a Security six)
Cleaned up nice, lots of scrubbing and rubbing, I bobbed the hammer, added meprolight night sights, contoured the grip frame for some speed six grips, gun locks up tight and shoots excellent!!
I'm sure you'll be pleased with yours.

I used a 1/16th punch and drill bit.
Gun in vise.
The sight needed to be filed a bit to fit.
Video on YouTube. (SP 101)
Got the sight off Ebay for $35. Sight is for an SP101, the bottom if the white outline around the tritium vial drops below the sight on the SS.
The tritium vial is still visible at POA.
Much better than the stock ramp sight.

Bernie, do you want us to name the Service Six for you or are you good? :)

I have the BK adapters too...love 'em. I hope they fit your new pistola! Be sure to post pics when you get it all outfitted.
