Seecamo LWS 32 ACP: we dont need no stinking sights

Any tiny pocket gun is meant to be used in very close proximity to a threat. Sights are optional in this genre of gun. Almost all of my practice is point-shooting. When I do take time to "aim", the Seecamp is surprisingly accurate.

The Seecamp LWS-32 was puposely designed without sights so that it will not snag on clothing when drawn. Great little pistol, have been carrying one for years when lightly dressed in shorts and tee shirt weather. :)

JMOfartO:

I'll agree that the LWS32 "don't need no stinkin' sights"....

I'd agree equally that the LWS380 "don't need no stinkin' sights"..

But..

If you plan on shooting the LWS380 very much I'd suggest adding one of JeffSigs magazine fingertip extensions is not a bad idea.. :D

Once sighted fire is mastered, a familiar weapon can fired with good accuracy out to amazing distances. Once upon a time, the front sight came un-staked from a Colt Commander while I was shooting a police qual. My 15 and 25 yard groups were only slightly larger than I had previously shot with sights.

Now, at 49 years of age, unless a firearm has an optic, I am point-shooting, regardless. My new prescription spectacles are of amazingly little help. So, my Seecamp is at little disadvantage, compared to my SIGs.

I have a little crappy Phoenix Arms HP22 that can hold 3" at 25 yards off a rest and will do it all day long, shoots to POA, too. I invite you to the range if you don't believe it. Don't tell ME a small gun ain't capable of plinkin' at 25 yards. I mow down the 6" plates at 25 with that HP22. It's just a cheap toy, but I mean, I wouldn't want it without sights and I wouldn't want ANY pocket gun without sights. I know I wouldn't use 'em for self defense at close range, but I wouldn't use a .22 or .32, either. Be okay for a back up. I carry a little NAA .22 for a back up and even THAT gun can shoot into 7 or so inches at 25 yards, front sight is filed down to regulate it with Federal Lightening. I hit about 2 out of 5 of those same 6" plates with it at 25 off hand when I'm doing good. I have a NAA Black Widow in .22 mag that can shoot 3.5" at 25 off bags, better sights, Novaks in fact. They're low profile and don't get in the way of the function of the gun. Why would I want to toss 'em?????? That would be just plain STUPID. I can clean those same 6" plates 5 for 5 if I am shooting well with the BW at 25 off hand. That'll get me in a kill shot center mass at 25, not that many defense situations occur at that range, but the sights, again, are quite low profil and don't deter from point shooting the gun.

Suit yourself. If you wanna hunt deer to 100 yards with a sightless X frame, suit yourself. Me, I sorta like being able to hit stuff past the end of my nose. Hey, I'll be 59 in a couple months, never had great eyes, wear bifocals, and can still use sights quite well.

I used white auto touch-up paint to highlight the front sight on my P3AT, and it does make the sight easier to pick up during deliberate fire. I actually hit better just by keeping both eyes open, concentrating on the target, and point shooting, though.

To 7 yards, a gun that point shoots well will shoot well on those same 6" plats I mentioned. The fact that it has sights does not deter from its point shooting capabililties, however. I don't like guns that DON'T have sights, personally, takes away one sighting option. No need to limit my sighting options. If I had to have a Seecamp or other small sightless gun, I supposed I could have novaks installed like the ones on my NAA Black Widow. Those things are very easy to pick up, yet totally snagless. I really like 'em. They would require a smith dovetail the slide to accept them.

+1. I had the same experience earlier today at the indoor range point shooting my P-32 at 3 to 5 yards. At 7 yards, I used the sights and got consistent head shots on the silhouette paper target. It is nice to have the sighting option.
