Give me an idea how those confiscations will happen? Estimated 9.5million "assault weapons" in the US..lets say 5 mags each..47million or so magazines. Coupled with the fact the Feds don't know who has what(gun registration illegal in the US)..just how does a mass, country wide confiscation happen? The manpower, the $, the data...?? Just curious..
Not trying to argue any 'point', so.....I see this all the time, 'confiscation'..just don't see that the $, the manpower, the information, the political will(it would have to be via congress) is there....

I'll bet there WILL be some sort of 'assault weapons' ban(NOT sayimg that's any kind of good thing...OK?)..probably like the last one and probably grand fathered...IMHO...

In Before the Lock...

I'd agree the political will necessary for attempted confiscations is absent in Congress. Given Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats, they'll not find the votes in both chambers, IMO.
But I'd still expect the intensity of the panic run to crank up further.
Strange days now, stranger days ahead, I'd venture.

Howland937: many of the ammo 'chamberings' you described were available here in Academy and Walmart last March-summer
They were here as well, then they also dried up. I was just making the observation that ammo in those calibers that were "last out" also seemed to be "first in"...which I felt was odd.

If you have a burning contempt for the Constitution and individual liberty, and a willingness to achieve your goals through extreme violence, NOTHING is off the table. Anti-gun cultists have that attitude, and now they have unfettered power to do as they wish.

Would they kill you to get your AR15? Why NOT?

I was at my local Orchlands. They had one box of 410 Critical defense Hornady. I bought it for my bond arms. They don't mark up in shortages so it was 19 bucks. My be the last ammo I get for a while.

Bi-Mart has blessed me again. CCI 22.lr Mini Mags this morning, $7.50 a box.

Bought 2, the came back an hour later and bought 2 more. It was a good morning.

I went to an LGS that was rationing primers last week, 200 per customer at $10 per 100. This week I noticed they were no longer rationing them, they moved the price per hundred to $25. That was breath taking, to put it mildly.
