I recall reading a story in American Rifleman after the mess in NOLA. It was a man's firsthand account of the storm. He said something about parking his truck in a multistory lot to avoid the water and then retrieving it after the storm. IIRC he had an AR and an AK which he took out to his rig and saw several men gathered near it. Once they saw his firearms they fled. There was, of course, more to it but I don't remember all the details.

Anyone remember this story? I'd like to look it up. I'm trying to compile stories of this kind.

Thanks

I do remember that one, I'll try to dig it out. I didn't recieve that copy of The American Rifleman at the time, but I do recall reading it when I got home, so maybe November or December 2005? I know it was from before Vice Admiral Allen was put in charge.
