Seeking M1 Grand advice:

I want to add an M1 Grand in 308 to my collection.
Dean's Gun Restorations http://www.dgrguns.com/index.html and Orion 7 Enterprises Inc. http://www.m1garandrifle.com/ seem to be a bit pricey.
I’m considering Tony Giacobbe http://www.garandguy.com/ his prices are more reasonable.
Now the question is, does he produce a quality product?
What is your experience with M1 Grand from Tony Giacobbe?

Never dealt with him but if you don't want a pricey Garand try getting one from the CMP. I don't know if they sell them in .308.
I was just out last week with my 1953 dated CMP Garand (30.06) clipping flowers off the weeds behind the 100 yard targets at my local gun club. Not bad for an old gun that only cost $500.00.

I'd check out www.battlerifles.com there's a lot of Garand shooters there with tons of info. Although I don't own one be warned it seems M1 Garands multiply faster than rabbits.

It depends on what you want to do with it largely. If you simply want an M1 in .308, you can always get a Danish Rack grade from CMP and for $225 have champions choice put a new .308 barrel on it. I did and love it!
