I read that storage units don't allow ammunition for being combustible/hazardous, but does anyone know of any self-storage units in nassau county that allow the storage of unloaded firearms?

I just saw a post on a LI forum and nobody found a place that allowed storage of guns or ammo. The other issue would be rust unless it was a climate controlled unit.

Don't ask, don't tell.
I've done it...stored both ammo and guns.
Just remember, cameras everywhere so use generic boxes when transfering stuff to storage unit.
I have even had a safe in one, off loaded with a refrig box sleeved over the top.
Bring a light source and do what needs to be done with the door closed.

Link to thread, Pate? It'd suck if there's no storage unit in nassau, suffolk or westchester.

I haven't run into this issue, but I am in Montana. When asked, the only items my storage place disallowed were HEs, vehicles, and any container that holds over 5 gallons of gasoline, though multiple smaller cans were fine.

I wish you luck in your search. :)

Dunno where you live, but here it would be fine. I used to work at a self storage facility, and we had no rules whatsoever on firearms or ammunition storage. Certainly not the best place to store them though, as the humidity and heat here wouldn't be good on them long term, but I've done it out of necessity.

Well, I know there's good locks, and obviously I'd look for an indoor one.

I just need to know one that lets me store one at all
