If you don't want to permanently modify the gun, as in cut down the FSB, I would highly suggest the Midwest Industries 2 piece drop in Mlok rail. It's only about 130 bucks, but is well made and extremely lightweight.
You could always shave the FSP down and run a longer rail as well. Troy, Midwest, and Centurion make two piece rails that work with the front site Post as well. They are more than the magpul, but are aluminum, not poly
I use BUIS that rely on the standard A2 front sight post to work. It is what I am used to. So I won't be cutting it down. Besides. Even on a 14.5" (IIRC) M4 I did not need MORE rail space to put stuff. Even when I had a PEQ-15, EOF green laser, vertical foregrip, and a flashlight. My personal AR won't have nearly as much on it which is why the M-LOK is at appealing to me in reducing rail real estate.
