A friend of mien called me a couple days ago from Idaho and wanted to share a brick of ammo. I said sure, and what he delivered was 500 round (for me) of 115gr Sellier&Bellot 9mm ammunition.

I opened one of the boxes and saw it was marked "Police" in black ink. Interesting, I thought, but didn't think much more of it. Then I took them to the range. They are seemingly normal S&B rounds, except they are marked green instead of red. Also, they are HOT! HOTHOTHOT! Not in that firebreathing kind of way, or the wristbreaking .454 or whatever. But they are snappy little buggers.

They burn nice and clean and are about as reliable as any you know ... factory ammo, not hollow points either, but they make my PT92 actually *snap!* Also, they throw the brass into the windows and walls of my range with a very distinct and loud "CLANK" rather than a ping ... from the far end of the range. So they travel in excess of seven yards at a pretty darned decent clip.

Fun stuff, but when you get it, don't hand it off to the recoil shy who are used to .22. They are a handful! Well, about as much of a handful as a 9mm can be.

9mm police rounds? Are they not the 9mm ultra rounds? The 9x18 police.

In which case they are not designed for a 9mm luger/parabellum pistol.

Or is it simply the police training rounds of 9mm?

If so most european 9mm is hotter than similar US rounds, generally.

Shouldn't hurt your gun and could be used for SD in a pinch.

i believe they are between 50 to 100 fps faster that the 115gr base version, thats what i was told when I inquired when they first hit the market in my area bout 2-3yrs ago
