I sold some ammo on GB and buyer contacted me asking to send ammo to different address then listed.
What should I do?
Never had this situation before. I asked to send me a DL, but would that be legal to send to different address?
Thank you

Doesn't sound all that unusual to me. Before we both retired we had things always shipped to my wife's place of work. This way someone was always there to take it and it was safe. More preferred than UPS leaving a box on our front door step. As long as the transaction is legal and you aren't shipping to a state that prohibits it I would just ship wherever the buyer wants it shipped in his name.

Ron

Name is the same it is two different state
OH and WI.
I did not get his DL yet and don' t know address on it.

I wouldn't be worried about it. If you are worried about a straw purchase situation, it only applies to firearms.

Not unusual.

I actually just did that exact thing earlier this week. He said somebody would be home all day at the other address to receive packages. Whatever, I don't care, I got my USPS money order, I'll send it where they want it.

It's ammo. Except in certain rare examples (well, Illinois) anybody at all who is 18/21 years old can buy it.

I don't think OH or WI have anything stupid or weird to worry about regarding ammo laws, even if you were going to worry about the laws in a different state.

I've done the same thing many times. Two homes in different states, so if we're getting ready to travel to the second home, I'll often have things shipped there in anticipation of our arrival. As long as one of the states is not somewhere like California or New York or another of the restrictive states, and you're not shipping any evil ammo (is there such a thing?) you should be good to go.

I would just make sure his account wasn't compromised (making sure if you contact him through his listed contact info he confirms he wants it shipped to the new address) and you're good to go.

CZ, may sound strange, but don't you need to ship the ammo by UPS with hazmat fee and doesn't he have to sign for it himself???

Jim

jim243, there is no hazmat fee on ammo shipped UPS, and no signature requirement unless it is specified by the shipper.

Ammo has to be marked as such (printable label) and must be shipped from a UPS location. (no pack & mail type stores) Otherwise no restrictions. I shipped ammo twice this way last month.
