Twelve years old would make it a -4 with the radiused hand, new rear sight (is rounded on the front towards the barrel is the easiest way to tell). Could have a square or round butt, they changed during that time.

I would estimate $450 to $550 based on location and demand. Deduct $50 off the book value at any rate for the missing target stocks if it is a square butt. My estimation would be:

Condition excellent, so my guestimate is:

Square butt with stocks: $550
Square butt w/o stocks: $500
Round butt w/hogues: $450 to $500.

I bought this one last year for about $550. It had Hogue stocks, jeweled trigger and hammer and a very smooth trigger. I know I overpayed at the time but just didn't care. She's a keeper! Btw, what Oro said is on the money for my locale.

I bought one a year ago with original stocks in about 90% condition for $425.

I saw one a few weeks ago, in nicer shape and with original stocks--$400. If I had $400 in my pocket, it wouldn't have been there for long :)

Thanks guys, and I am sorry that I did not put that it was not for sale in the post.

I would guess in the $500 range. You can always see what they're going for on Gunbroker.

I got a mint, 6", no dash 586 at Gander Mtn in October 2006 for $319.99. I'm guessing it was wrongly priced; Gander Mtn. never has deals like that, especially for an essentially new revolver!
