Is it legal to sell brass containing a live primer? A gentleman died recently and he has hundreds of cases primed already?

The shipping (if needed) of primed brass would have to be done via UPS/FedEx ground just like ammo. If the seller knew the primer manufacturer and type, it would make the primed brass more valuable. Some loaders substitute primers and knowing that the correct type was installed, it would make the next guy feel better. Knowing the manufacturer and type would even help knowing they were not getting really old corrosive stuff.

Thanks for the info. The guy had some CCI primers leftover so I'm pretty thats what they're loaded with.

There is no hazmat for primed brass, only primers alone, so if shipping is necessary, the primed brass is not a problem. The primers not so much.

If it is local, they can sell you anything you can legally own. They can legally sell you primers or primed brass FTF, it only gets tricky for the primers if shipping is needed. Then you are out of luck for the primers alone. The primed brass is not a problem period.
