As some on this forum know, I intend to modify an AR-15 rifle to a good DMR.
I thought about purchasing a Sabre Defense SPR rifle and adding the optical sight and mount (La Rue mount with Nikon variable power telescopic sight) and that option's still viable.
I've also seen a couple gun shops in my local area in the states (Florida) say they carry ARs and I'm thinking of looking into that option for an alternative to a 2,500 dollar rifle. The main things I seek are a 20", 1:8 twist barrel, flattop receiver and a heavy barrel. What should I look for in terms of good quality assurance/quality control when I inspect the ARs at these local gun shops/dealerships to ensure I don't purchase a lemon rifle?
