Senate races come down to the wire.

There are seven very important Senate races that will determine how pro-gun the next U.S. Senate is... they are

WA, CO, NC, SC, SD, LA, and FL

Right now we are running dead even or slightly ahead in six of those seven. Gunowners can absolutely make the difference IF they get out and vote their guns this election.

You want to see repeals of bad gun law in the Senate? First we have to change the 52 Senators who think it is OK to ban guns based on silly cosmetics into a number lower than 50. This is our chance to do that.

Second, we need someone who will sign those repeals if they do get passed through the House and Senate.

You'll need more than that. As the Dems have proven with their filibusters on judicial candidates, anything really unpopular with them will require a 2/3rds vote.

ALASKA: This is a close one, but Democrat Tony Knowles may be edging ahead of Republican senator Lisa Murkowski. The latest poll of likely voters shows Knowles leading, 47 percent to 43 percent. But bear in mind that these numbers come from a Democratic polling firm. If Knowles does in fact win, he'll make history (or at least recent history) as the first Democrat Alaskans have sent to the Senate in 30 years. And Republican governors will learn an important lesson: No matter how much you love your daughters, think twice about appointing them to Senate vacancies. TOSS UP

Alaska's Junior seat is really causing me sleepless nights. Murkowski is OK, but the method of her selection was beneath contempt (her dad picked her only after toying with the state's leading Republicans for a month and getting their hopes up). On the other hand, I like Knowles and think he'd be a better Senator. Both are OK on RKBA issues. But then again I don't want to put the Dems over the top in DC. I like him, but hate his party on the national level. But I hate Lisa's party on the state level and don't care much for her dad.:banghead:

SW,

Do you think Coors will win here in CO? He is coming across as totally uninformed on a LOT of major issues from where I'm sitting.

Kudos to Gov. Owens and the "leadership" for torpedoing Bob Schaffer by recruiting Coors. I think they cost themselves a seat.

You forgot Oklahoma!

We have an open seat race. The Republican (Coburn) was ahead at first. Then the Democrat (Carson) took a fairly large lead. The last poll says Coburn is ahead by a couple points but the margin of error is bigger than that. The amount of commercials, phone calls, and direct mail from both sides is incredible. There is a LOT of outside money pouring in trying to affect the outcome.

I REALLY hope Coburn wins. He was one of my favorite Congressmen before he followed his pledge and left the House after six years in 2000. He went back to his family medical practice. He would be a GREAT Senator. We can only wish they were all like him and we would see the Federal Budget whipped into shape in short order. He takes a very dim view of funding each and every program even if they are a good idea or even if they benefit Oklahoma. First you have to tell him where you are getting the money from.

Plus he is above reproach when it comes to the RKBA.

The race in SC is beyond ridiculous. Jim Demint vs. Inez Tenenbaum (or LIEnez as I call her). She constantly lies about Demint's position and he constantly doesn't answer questions - it's infuriating. I stopped paying attention a while ago.

Even if Lienez wins, we're hardly worse off than before since Hollings was a Dem.

And as annoying as it would be to have Inez in office, she's actually rather moderate on most positions. Demint would be better by a long shot, but either is still much better than Hollings ever was.
