It seems that the U.S. Senate is selling the American people out on the illegals and they DO NOT care what the Americian people think or want!
What scares me about this is, What if they do the same to GUN CONTROL.
They have ignored existing laws and the Constitution about illegals, what if they decide to do the same with GUNS?
No matter if it is the GOP or the DEMS, they could care less what we think or want them to do.
If the incoming President come to agreement with the U.N. on Small arms control,it only takes 51% of Congress to make it happen.
Do you think most of Congress will listen to the people or the U.N.?

Ken - You're mostly right. But it takes a 2/3 majority of the Senate to ratify any treaty signed by the president - not 51 percent.

One third of congress is up for re-election every two years. They'll not dare approve a treaty that is abhorrent to the Constitution like total firearm confiscation.

I worry more about those same legiscritters passing a law with a 51% majority that further infringes on my rights. We're losing them a little bit at a time and hardly anyone even squeaks...

I'd suggest not betting your guns on that proposition. Any Congress that can legitimate throwing away the nation's borders can legitimate throwing away our civil rights.

What if it isn't a treaty?

We tend to think of agreements between/among sovereign nations as being "treaties." I'm quite certain that was the understanding of the old dudes who wrote up our Constitution.

So what the heck is the North American Free Trade Agreement?

By packaging it as an "agreement" rather than a "treaty" (which is what it is), Slick Willy didn't need to get a 2/3 majority to approve his signing, only a simple majority.

Jorge is doing the same with CAFTA, same label, same sell. He looooves CAFTA. So just same (manure), different day, different party. All politicians.

Our government is no longer representive of the people, but rather of big business and special interests. And BOTH parties are equally guilty of this. Our civil rights will continue to be attacked until we as a people decide enough is enough and fight back. I am guessing that between now and 20 years later there is going to be VERY serious social upheaval in the US. Molon Labe (the book) comes to mind.

<tinfoil hat>Maybe those cretins in the Senate will overwhelming vote in favor of the UN gun ban, because they know after this immigration
amn(trav)esty passes citizens will start poking back...</tinfoil>

The Senate has passed the McCain Feingold First Amendment Voiding act, and a President signed it all while stating he KNEW it to be unconstitutional, but rather than return it unsigned as the Constitutiona mandates he do, he signed it anyway and said he "hoped the Supreme Court would strike it down" so what in the world would cause the U.S. Senate to believe they needed to adhere to the U.S. Constitution.

They fail to even CONSIDER that document in the ongoing invasion of our borders (Article I, Section VIII, clauses four, fifteen, and sixteen) and allow monitoring of all computer, phone, fax, transmissions of every single human in this country, in direct defiance of the U.S. Constitution.

Can't see why they would let the Constitution interfere with snatching up your firearms.

Some time ago I posted in a thread that after all the huppla was done regarding the illegals that all would remain basically the same - just the names would change from illegals to guest works or something simular.

Witness now in the upcoming days the influence of business and money over government , and the disregard over the welfare of the citizens of this nation.

Who among the citizenship of this country can commit a crime and be rewarded ?

Then vote third party candidates on election day because it is the only non-violent way we have left of protesting the loss of a government by and for the people.

Vote 3rd party?

I'll venture this comment: If third party voting comes close to being a factor, the two main parties will use "rules" to disqualify the candidates or invalidate the votes for them.
