i recently purchased a mossberg 930 spx and took it to the range for the first time. i fired 100 rounds of bird shot, 45 rounds of buckshot, and 15 rounds of slugs. well while i was sighting in with the slugs and when i went to adjust the windage the entire rail fell to the side.
thats when i realized that the first two screws on the rail were gone. i looked every where thinking that the screws just walked out. well i found one screw so i went to the local hardware store and found a replacement for the second screw but when i tried to screw the screws back one of the threads were stripped but i was able to tightly secure one screw back on
so my question is will having one screw missing on the rail affect anything? should i send it back to the manufacture or just live with it ?

Did it come with rails? I personally would just lok tite it and live with it. There isn't anything wrong with the gun, its just the rail.

i guess my only real concern is will having one out of four screws missing mean that the rest of the screw will keep walking out even with loctite and will having that small hole directly over the chamber have any affect to the firearm

If you have something else to use for home defense I would send it back. I would not send it back if it leaves you defenseless.

Does anyone have any advice for dealing with mossbergs customer service ive never had to send a firearm back to the manufacture and dont really know the steps involved

Be honest with them, tell them exactly what happened. They should be willing to help out.

The first step is to call the company and ask to talk to the Customer Service Dept. They will tell you what you need to do to get it repaired.

Some companies require a Return Authorization Number. I don't know if Mossberg does or not, since I sold the only Mossberg shotgun I owned many years ago. If they require a Return Authorization Number, they will assign you one, and that goes on the shipping label. If it's not on there, they may return the package unopened, but like I said, I don't know if Mossberg requires one or not. You just need to call them and they'll tell you everything you need to know.

The company that made the product is normally a better place for information on repairs than a public forum.

Hope this helps.
