Seniors with guns

Ala Dan-
Have you picked up any new guns with all the money you saved from the Senior Discounts at Denny's!!! :D

If it weren't for the Seniors I'd still be working on hitting a target at 50 yards with my MkII pistol :D

Anyone check out the RANGE (distance) they were shooting at??? WOW If they were getting good hits at that distance (Looked over 50YARDS) I realize small pic but IMO it looked that far. They said she can't see well but can hit target at 50yds with revolver?
Self Defense is (99.5%) at CLOSE range. Less then 25FEET. Of which majority will be less then half that. I would not be surprised if self defense shootings by folks 65 or older had a HIGHER hit/miss rate then those under 40.
Yes there comes a time when they have to stop carrying. That does NOT depend on age. I like the idea of Grandma protecting herself... Might protect my family members who are elderly/have trouble getting around if BGs consider they might get DEAD if they mess with them.

Some of the best shot I've seen at my local range I think would qualify as senior citizens. Prolly due to the experienced patience of an old hand, as opposed to the impulsive lead-slinging we young pups are prone to.

OT. Caught just the tail end of that report. I shoot at that range often. Funny seeing a place you know well on national television.

Hey 45R

Nope, haven't had the opportunity just yet! :(

But I will definitely get a few before too much longer.

FWIW, you know we don't even have a DENNY's
close by. The closest one is about 9 miles east
of Bombingham. But we got two Mickey D's. :uhoh: :D

Best Wishes,

Some older folks I've known have SA so acute they'd let BG get within 100' just to give 'em a fightin' chance. :D

Larry,

Pistol side targets can be set from point blank to about fifty yards. I think minimum is about five yards. The pistol side has a waist high bench going all the way across and is standing only. The rifle side has pre set target distances with a minimum of twenty-five yards and a maximum of two hundred yards. Each firing line has a stand-alone bench and is sitting only (I’ve never tried to stand up at least). The pistol range is on the west side of the range and the first range on the east. Down range is north. It seemed as though most of the footage was taken facing towards the west. Pistol range is about five feet higher then the rifle range.

When they were shooting on the rifle side (individual benches) they were probably doing twenty-five yard shots. On the pistol side (long bench) they were probably shooting at seven to fifteen yards.

Not sure if inspired by Fox coverage or the recent incident of FW lady getting kidnapped and dumped in Oklahoma, but my phone has been ringing from old people the last couple of days (interested in CHL certification). The man just a few minutes ago was 80 !

On a more depressing note, my Dad is getting close and said when he hits 80 that me may let his CHL expire ... :( One of his best friends recently let DL go ... :(
