I bought my safe at Menards several years back on back Friday. Its an entry level sentry brand safe with the digital key pad locking device. Over the weekend it died, changed the battery still nothing.
It has a backup key behind the pad so I can still get in.

I know this is a common issue, and why most people say to avoid this type of system. How should I deal with the problem? Can I call sentry and get a replacement for it?

I told my wife that I just need to get a bigger, better, safer safe... That flew about as far as I can throw my current safe. Lol.

Any advice from those that have been in my shoes?

I would call Sentry to get a replacement--however, first did the old battery leave corrosion on the terminals. You can clean those with cleaners that you can get at an automotive parts store and maybe restore the keypad to working order. Also look for wire/soldering breaks as many of these devices use cheap wires and have shoddy soldering.

One last thing, recently, I have been seeing some battery powered devices warning against using rechargeable batteries (one was a Winchester branded RSC aka gunsafe keypad). Not sure if the amperage is too high or what is up with that but these devices had warnings about damage to the electronics from using rechargeables instead of alkaline or regular disposable batteries.

Tried the new battery, still nothing. Also, its Sentinel by stack-on, not sentry as I originally posted.
I plan to call them today...
