Serbia, Kosovo Privi Partizan

Has anyone any opinions about the relative quality of the Privi Partizan ammo as compared with others? Specifically, they offer 6.5 and 7.7 Japanese ammo, which I need to buy a supply of. I intend to use the cases for reloading so I guess my question is more about the quality of their brass. I really, really hate to slap down the $$$ for Norma ammo, the Privi Partizan being around 10 bucks a box cheaper, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if the Norma brass was substantially better.

Where do you get Privi Partizan ammo? I have only seen it advertised on the Ammo to Go website

As of right now. for the most part, Privi Partizan = Wolf Gold

Privi Partizan was imported under it's own name for a while and there are still some stocks of it being sold. but once Wolf partnered with them to expand the wolf centerfire line into the realm of "stuff that don't smell like manure or leave melted lacquer in you chamber", i'm pretty sure the imports of "Privi Partizan" marked ammo stopped.

I just checked MidwayUSA for my preferred caliber, 6.5x55. Both Prvi Partizan and Wolf Gold were listed, as available. And the Prvi Partizan is about $4.00 less than the Wolf Gold.

Having lived and worked (as a contractor) in Serbia, Croatia, BiH, Montenegro AND KOSOVO from 1994 to 2004, I think I know a little about what happened in that region because I WAS THERE!

I went completely indig and speak the language, Serbo-Croat, quite well and am currently engaged to a Croatian woman.

Firstly, it is not "Privi" Partizan, but "PRVI" or "First Partizan". Serbs are very practical businessmen and I would not anticipate them initiating an export embargo against the US. Their ammo is quite good and reliable.

Secondly, there WAS wholesale mass killing BY ALL SIDES during all of the wars, (Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo) and I can personally attest to this because I was tasked by the OSCE to recover bodies of war-crime victims. It was one of the worst jobs I've ever had.

So to those who deny that these atrocities ever occured, if you weren't there, you are talking out of your realm. Now let's get back to talking about guns...

All I can say about it is that my Tokarev loves the stuff and would hate for it to be embargoed.

Never knew that. Is there some significance to calling it "First Partizan"? I'm assuming there's no second partizan or something.

Cos,
I have no idea why it has the name "Prvi" Partizan, but I've never heard of "Drugi" or "Second Partizan" ammo either! :)

Edit: I do suspect that it may have something to do with the Partizan fighters that Tito led in WW 2 against the Nazis.

TR,
The Embassy isn't overrun. The bad guys got into the visa section and burned it. The operation parts of the embassy weren't touched. This comes from a longtime friend of mine that works there.

Absolutely true. I spent nearly 7 months in Brcko, Bosnia in 97-98 and racked up many miles throughout the region. It happened everywhere.

Sorry for the additional sidetrack....
