Has anyone ever heard of a Serbo/ Firear .50 cal M/BFG-50???? I have a friend who is thinking of purchasing this .50 ca. single shot. And who sells .50 cal BMG ammo???? MANY thanks for any and all replys.

the first and only time I shot a 50 was a Serbu.
took my dig camera to the range one day to get some pics of my nephew.

a shooter at the range had a Serbu and wanted shots of himself shooting it.

also got pics of my nephew and I shootin' it!

:D

the pic is me just before 'lift off'.

the gentleman that owned the rifle said he had no problems with the rifle.

Thanks for the help

Thanks, Harry and Nipperdog. The web site for the gun and ammo was really helpful as I found out the name is SERBU not SERBO. And that is some picture Nipperdog. shot it once did you??--Thanks to both ---tom

I've been asking about the Serbu since it came out. The owners almost universally love it and owners of other .50 BMG rifles are suspicious of it's low cost. One owner also had an AR-50 and said the Serbu was more accurate and had less felt recoil. Can't remember the owner but they posted here on THR. Maybe they'll pipe up.

I highly recommend getting a Serbu if your looking into getting a 50 BMG. I was looking at 50s last year and for the price you cannot beat the Serbu BFG 50.

I've had mine for about 4 months now and I've put well over 100 rounds through it without a hitch. The thing is built like a tank and is of very high quality. Not to mention that the price is easier to handle then just about any other quality 50 BMG on the market.

Plus there's no better feeling holding onto it when that things roars to life. ;)

If you want to get more information on 50 BMGs I'd recommend going over to www.biggerhammer.net Mark Serbu actually posts quite regularly there and the Serbu has a big following with those guys. They will also give you good advise on other brand as well.

Good luck with your search.

Not sure who it was but I know for a fact that the BFG has more recoil then the AR-50. As far as accuracy goes, I would say that there's really not much difference. Both will shoot MOA or better with quality ammo, when it comes to hand loads the BFG will probably do better. The AR-50 has a very long throat and even with 750gr+ bullets, most people still can't reach the lands.

With all that being said, when the people at Gun Test rag did a test on a few .50's, the only thing they didn't like about the AR-50 was the 10lb trigger pull. This problem was addresses by Armalite and the newer AR-50's have upgraded triggers (4lb) and an upgrade was sent to people that requested it from Armalite.

From the Serbu website:
While the price of this gun is incredibly reasonable, the low quality that one usually expects with a low price is not a fact of life with the BFG-50. How can this be done? Low overhead, and a design that's optimized for manufacturability as well as performance and quality. Plus a labor pool made up mostly of illegal immigrant children toiling in a hellish environment, subsisting on a diet of water, rice and cockroaches.

:what:

I've wanted to get a Serbu for a couple years now. I don't doubt quality, but have been holding off because I want to see about getting his semi BFG when completed. So far it's been vaporware.

Maybe someday soon though, before Feinswine really gets serious about getting the .50 banned. I mean come on, you can't get more American than the John Moses .50!!

If he doesn't get it done soon, I know I'm gonna waste several bob more and get the Barrett 82a1...last I checked they were still going for $7800 or so.

P.S. Mark if you are reading this, and it would help me get one of your guns sooner, I know where you can get child labor. And I suspect they will even forego the cockroaches, saving you that much more overhead. Hey I know cockroaches aren't cheap anymore.
