Generally speaking, most 'smiths that have any experience with them don't want any more. However it ultimately depends on what needs to be done. And before you proceed get a solid quote, and don't be surprised if it seems high.
"And most smith's don't work on them because people don't want to spend $150 on a $150 gun."
Plus, many parts are not available any more, and the guns are very frustrating to work on, often requiring hours to fix the same basic problem that would take minutes on an S&W.
I have a 930 4" nickel that shot fairly well. I did have to replace the plastic hammer strut twice in its life before I finally found a steel one. It finally broke at the crane/cylinder pivot tube sweat joint. Never had any other problems with it except hard case extraction. I guess I could find one of those somewhere and put it back to work. It was my go to 22 for many many years.
Others here have already mentioned why gunsmiths won't work on them, so I won't get into that. Since you don't really have anything to lose with this gun, trying to do it yourself is probably your only option unless you want to sell it for parts and buy something different. Is it the frame that broke, or a part in the cylinder and crane assembly? I've never heard of a "pivot tube sweat joint" but if you look on Numrich's website, there's a parts diagram. Find what the part is called and search for it. If you can't find it, call Jack First Gun and they'll probably be able to make one for you. If the gun is worth that much to you anyway.
