Shaking spent caps off the revolver?

I am just going to jump in right here just to thank Low Key for correctly spelling it as "dowel rod" and not "doll rod" like I have seen on the forum.

That just creates all kinds of disturbing thoughts when people use doll rod.

D'day George.
They are probably much better off out there anyway with pools and sun and surf and Fosters and XXXX!

Spike Milligan, one of my favourite comedians, was once asked by an immigration officer when he arrived in Australia if he had a criminal record.
"I didn't know you still needed one to get in!" he replied!

Shakin off spent caps? Just get yer walkman, and THE WHO live at leeds, live version; 'Shakin All Over' while yer shootin!

Rock it baby! ROCK it!

Thom feeling silly today!

Duncan,

"Hey George, that New Zealand price is double the price I pay! Still, you have to remember that we used that area to transport criminals to in the past so you can draw your own conclusions!!!!"

Went straight thru my head, not over it, when you posted a week ago. Didn't connect the criminals with the high price. You got me on that one..

18 USD doesn't sound that good this side of the pond, but you seem to be happy.

I don't want to make you feel bad, but, for a rimfire shooter, .22 goes on sale all the time for 8 to 10 USD for a "brick" of 500, everyday fodder, not Eley target stuff.

Hell, I don't even know if rimfires are still allowed in Britain, or is the worst of it in England itself? I don't know if you are in France for your professional opportunities or because you can't shoot as you wish to in Old Blighty.

Damn, it would be nice to be able to move a couple hundred miles and be in an entirely different lifestyle. In the contiguous States, rather difficult. We are homogeneous, very slight change to anything, diet, drink, dialogue, whatever. Different names for the same cuts of beef, that's about all.

No one has good bread. Had to get that one in.

Cheers,

George

OTOH, I have to go every paragraph to get another spoon of my olive mix.

Just got home from the good old North of England and am plodding through a weeks e.mails and trying to catch up with you lot! You can still shoot .22 Rifle in the UK but here in France 500 Blazer rounds cost about $15.
We came because my wife retired and I was out of work so we decided we could live on her pension and what I could make running a holiday gîte using part of the house here. We were going to move when I retired anyway but decided to do it earlier. We came for many reasons but funnily enough shooting wasn't one of them!!

Raining like hell at the moment - am going to buy a spear gun I think!!

Duncan,

Good on you. You might like a litle more money, ie, the "gite", which you will, of course, tell me what it is, either a vineyard, as some of your pics, I seem to recall, depicted, or a "bed and breakfast".

I like when a person says enough is enough, a living retirement is enough.

After my youngest graduated college, and the debts were paid down a bit, I went to 5 days, NO OT, that's overtime. Then got injured at work, am able to live on what disability I get, have to apply for pension soon, up the monthly by 1/2. Also, they pay the insurance, I dn't have to

15 USD per 500 is not a bad price for the Blazers.

Did, by the way, make it to the "Strip" district Saturday, got 3 pounds of Gorgonzola at 4.49 per pound. Weight, that is. I guess 3 English pounds per pound. Would cost about 12 per pound at the local stores. Jeez, is that ever a good cheese. Went down the street a mile, to the main part of the "Strip", they were all closed. Wanted some Bleu and olives. Have to make a weekday trip.

Ah, well, I hope you are as happy with your semi-retirement as I am with mine.

Cheers,

George
