I researched .460 S&W Mag and never found a thread like this. I have seen them for others just not the .460. I recently bought a 8 3/8 inch X-frame in 460. I have not had a lot of time to test different loads. I have only loaded one load:
-300 grain XTP Mag
-Starline Brass
-CCI LRMP
-39.0 grains of H110
It netted 1950-1970 fps. 38.0 was sarting for H110 and 42.5 was max per Hodgdon's website. I did have a lot of burned carbon on the exterior sidewalls of the cases. The primers were not flattened or cratered. Maybe more powder to create better sealing against the chamber walls?
What have others had sucess with? What is your favorite? I am not only inquiring about 300g XTP's. Other bullet designs and weights are encouraged. Suprisingly, the .460 is a very versatile cartridge and revolver.
