I recently got a serrated edged knife that I use a lot at work, and it's ready for a sharpening. Anybody have any experience at sharpening this type of edge? I've only sharpened traditional blades. Will a butcher's steel work, or do I need a special tool? Any inexpensive sharpeners out there that make sharpening easier?

I've sharpened mine by running the flat side over a butcher's steel. The serrations are only on one side, if you notice. They also have thingamajics that sharpen serrations if you want to buy one. Usu seen at gun shows, etc.

Ditto on the Spyderco Sharpmaker. It even comes with an instruction video.

I,use a lansky with a serrated stone.

very time consuming, but brings it almost back to new :)
