This morning on Fox news two anchors were discussing the Jason Williams shooting case and a subsequent interview of Jason Williams.

When referring to Williams claim that "We weren't expecting anything bad to happen" or something one of the anchors said (paraphrasing) "They weren't expecting anything bad to happen?!! They were manhandling a loaded gun?! Of course there's going to be an injury if your manhandling a loaded gun. Why'd he have a loaded gun in his house anyway?!" The female anchor agreed but assured him that Williams only had the guns in his house because he's a trap shooter. Oh whew! God forbid he should have guns for some purpose other than trap shooting!

I was completely disgusted by this exchange. This anchor would make all pro-2Aers out to be reckless, criminal thugs. Did anyone else see this? If so feel free to correct my paraphrasing above and express any other interpretations you may have come away from with this.

BTW, I thought you could only "manhandle" a man. Wouldn't it be "gunhandling"?!

I thought the Talking Heads on FOX had more on the ball than that. I could believe this of the morons on CNN or PMSNBC. My mind's eye puts Dan Blather and Katie Couric into that scene. ;)

Even though FOX has been less "anti" than the other networks, they still can't control the ignorance of their news anchors. Spontaneous speech has gotten a lot of newspeople in trouble.

I wish I would've seen the piece you're referring to:(

News anchors are at their best reading from a tele-prompter. I'm sure it scares the crub out of the producers of news shows every time the anchors start free-lancing it.

This is an excellent case in point.
