shepherd scopes

anybody have any experience with the shepherd rangefining scopes? are they worth the money or are they mostly hype? seems like they would give a wider field of view and longer eye relief than an acog. any input would be nice. thanks.

Not much personally, but a fellow I used to shoot with a few years ago had a Shepherd scope, that's the "one-shot-zero" scope you see advertised in the Shotgun News, and he liked it a lot.

I didn't get to play with it much to seee how it worked, but it seemed like a pretty good scope.

I had a Shepherd on my .308 700 Varmint. Its one gun and scope I wish I never got rid of in a moment of "I gotta have....", my buddy still has it and wont give it up. The Shepherd works as advertised and I was very happy with mine. The one shot zero will get you pretty close, but you do need to fine tune it a little. The windage and elevation tic marks at the top and side of your view in the scope are repeatable and will instantly tell you if your zero has been messed with or if you forgot to reset it. It is the fastest system for ranging and shooting going, and I even used it on chucks with good results.
