This week I was able to attend the 131st Texas Sheriff Association Meeting which was held in our county this year, and our sheriff allowed his command staff to attend. We had around 194 of the 254 sheriffs in Texas here. In Texas it seems that at meetings like this you can always pick the sheriffs out due to white shirts and white cowboy hats. What I got a kick out and thought you guys might too was most of them were packing 1911's. Even my sheriff who normally carry his old DPS sig 226. Some of them you could tell was only carry once and a while very good looking weapons what people call bar-be-que guns. Others mostly on the older guys you could tell were carry alot and more then likly shot a lot. Made me began thinking since i began my LEO career in the M.P. in 1971 maybe I should get another .45 before I retire.

be safe
