Schwarzenegger married Maria Schriver. Maria Schriver is the daughter of Eunice Kennedy Schriver, who is Ted Kennedy's sister. Sen. Ted Kennedy is perhaps the most committed leader of the anti gun movement in this country.

You left out her dad, Sargent Shriver. This guy is a real piece of work.
He ran for Veep with George McGovern and kept us safe from French invasion during his time as Ambassador to France.

Oh yeah, there was that whole thing about how the USSR was just misunderstood and we should just try to get along with them.

Bill Clinton gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom or that, that should tell you something.

His last job was working for the UN, another gun friendly group

Well, well.

I'll be talking to the reporter on the 2nd, or earlier if possible. There's a whole aspect of this story she's missed. I don't want to say more on that for now.

As to "what to do with this" - I think it should be part of an amicus in the Parker/Heller case. Historically, the court has granted civil rights protections when it's clear that officials are abusing those rights. And while state incorporation isn't at issue yet, the court could make it an issue and even if not, it'll be clear that a fight over incorporation will be coming next.

Arnie the best choice?! Not in a million years, you are like the rest of Californians who fell into this lie. Tom McClintock was the best man for the job and he lost to a Nazi that people thought was their "stealth" candidate.

50 ban had logic? What logic would that be? Again, you have fallen into their trap. How many refiners have you heard of that have been attacked by a terrorist with a .50? For that matter, how many crimes have been committed in CA with a .50? Arnie banned .50's for one reason and one reason only, DiFi and the Dems dangled his budget that he wanted before him. He chose to sell us out and banned the .50's for his budget!

Your logic is also flawed about the unions, how much money did Arnie borrow (said he would pay back) from the school system funds then said screw you it's mine? He started his campaign to make it sound like it was the unions fault for him not getting his way. He's a terrible politician and should never have even run for office. How many times have we had to listen to him whine about something when he doesn't get his way?

I think you need to recheck your facts... fact they spent over 100 mil in opposition. Arny never took a dime form the teachers... they never had the money in the 1st place. Kind of hard to steal something they never had.

McClintock did not have a chance in hell of winning.( might want to check his voting history while your at it... might not be too happy with what you find)

As I said about the 50 BMG ban, I did not agree with it, but the reason given for it was atleast logical, which is more then can be said of 90% of the gun laws in CA. As I said a 308 with AP could do the same thing. I never said anything about why he signed, just that the reasons givine were atleast logical.( once again I do not agree with them) LAPD swat was a big part of getting that bill passed thru as well.

I also do have some EXP with how vulnerable the refinerys are in that area do to my time in the USCG patroling not far from them. Lets just say if some one desides to make a statement, the chances of them being stoped is 0.

Didn't take what? http://www.schoolwisepress.com/smart/news/rotation_news/fundmess.html He took it after suspending prop 98. The unions should've never been put in a position to have to spend the money defending their pay and pensions. How much do you think politicians get for their pensions? They also don't have to ask for a pay raise as they vote themselves one.

Again, if all the naysayers would've backed Tom and not been star struck over Arnie he would be the Governor right now. McClintock was the ONLY candidate that said on TV that he supports all the rights of people including the second amendment.

While you might not of agreed with the 50 ban, the threat of a terrorist using one for blowing up a refinery is zilch. Kinda like the VPC's other claim of them shooting down a passenger plane with a .50. Terrorists want BIG headlines with massive casualties and either one of these wouldn't do it. LAPD SWAT may have helped but in the long run it was Arnie's decision to sign, being a RINO and married into the Kennedy clan was a big part of it.

If you wish to support him that's fine, I don't. What I do care about is how he's continually screwing up CA. Wait until after the first of the year when his new round of garbage hits. Read this http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=80176 and yes, it just got worse here in Cali thanks to Arnie and his Democratic friends.

What diffrence does his polictical party have on anything? ( I'm a independent btw and a conserveative ) Both major parts are the same, only diffrence is one wears red and the other wears blue... it reminds me of two famous gangs.

I agree the chances of some one attacking the refinerys is very close to zero, thats not the point I was trying to make. My point was that there is atleast SOME logic behind that ban( once again I don't agree with it) Unlike 90% of the gun laws in CA. I've been a gun owner and worked for a FFL in CA so I understand about all the crap that comes "down the pipe", I can remember several laws that were passed that would effect one or two people in the state and 1 that effected NO one as there was already laws on the books for that.

Since you brough up the unions, needing to protect their pentions... let me ask you this, do you think correction officers are over paid? In one way or another half the workers in CA are paid in part or in full by the state. Tell me you don't have a prob with that.

I don't know what a correctional officer makes in CA but having to deal with some of the worst scum in the US... Kinda makes you think about that question as I've known a couple former CO's. After listening to some of their stories, they couldn't pay me enough money to take that job.;) As for their pensions, the CA legislature were the ones that approved them. So if people are mad about it they should vote out the idiots in Sac.

As for political parties, yeah, there really aren't any differences, just how the lies are told to make you try/want to believe them. Personally I wish they would do away with the party system, I hate when I hear that something was passed because of party lines.

Tab/ 50 cal

this topic is important, please lets not squabble, besides McClintock was clearly the better candidate by a long shot.

This thread is about a possibility to crack CA ccw abuse wide open, have the press on our side for once, and make it feasible for people like me to move back to where I can make more money and ccw

crosses fingers and prays!

Living in Sac for most of my life, I can tell you, in 2 weeks( if that long) we will never hear about this again. LA county has pretty much set the standard for those countys that do not want to issue CCWs. They will fallow that standard until there is a court order otherwise, or there is a complete "changing of the gaurd". The only way I see the latter happening is if right before an election the sheriff is cuagh red handed with something very bad or a massive crime wave happends...

Now add in the ot... of which they can have as much as they want.( got 2 inlaws that are COs... both make north of 100k a year, both of them work in min security) Also all you need is a clean record and a GED. you do get about 1k a month raise if you have a 4 year degree in anything.

Well I never said I was perfect. :)

The way I heard it was that we paid off the French so they wouldn't invade us. They started out by threatening to send 100,000 troops but it didn't scare us.

Then they upped it by threaten an invasion force of 175,000 French military from all branches, but that didn't scare us either.

But it all fell apart when the French President made a personal call to our President and said we should expect invasion by 250,000 French troops including their elite units, fully armed, well supported, and out for blood.

We panicked because we didn't have the resources to feed and house 250,000 French prisoners at the time.

At least that's what I heard.

It sound like the current CA system is what states like IN and MI had until
they reformed. CA could go either way depending on future elections. At
this point I'd say they could tip toward a system like IL --no permits for
non-LEOs.

This is why I encourage people to move and take their businesses and jobs
and tax base elsewhere since it seems this is the only thing the political
apparatchniki understand.

gunsmith: but the only redress to the years of racist cronyism is shall issue
Considering the way the PRK does things, it will be some form of ‘affirmative action shall issue’. It wouldn’t apply to everyone.

CA will be forced, kicking and screaming, into shall issue

The CA constitution is fairly pro self defense and pro gun.
It declared that public lands be open for hunting camping and shooting....or something similar, I can't remember the exact quote.
The socialist and naysayers are in for a shock.
Thanks to Jim for setting this up.
This and DC/Heller will change the landscape.
