Is it possible ? I live in Pakistan, and I know for a fact that bolt action rifles are allowed in my country but im not sure about bringing other rifles.

But is it possible ? Im looking into purchasing a Remington 700 or an AR-15. I would really appreciate it if someone can provide me some info. on this if rifles are allowed to be shipped out of the US or not.

Thank you.

For a country such as Pakistan I am pretty sure that wouldn't be a problem, I remember reading and seeing videos of gun markets in Pakistan... :what: fully automatic aks for like 200 US

yeah those were the auto AKs that were MADE in Pakistan. Fully auto Russian AKs cost about 2500$MAX.

See if the firearm can be broken down, ship one half separate, from the other half (can be done with the M-16, I mean the AR-15) and shipped from the dealer.
This was done by some dealers, during the Carter (U.S. President) years, the “loophole” for shipping firearms to countries that dealers (from the U.S.) could not ship firearms to. This was and is (today) not a big secret and was legal at the time.
Ambassadors’ from South Africa (Consulates) did this with shotguns, 45ACP cases, 45 cal. bullets, smokeless powders. Shipping them as separate components from each other.
I don’t know if this can be done today……you have to look into it. There’s paper work that has to be taken care of. It might be easier if you know an Ambassador from your country, (mission in the U.S. here to the U.N.) to help, to achieve your goal. Might be a long shot?

ITAR and export permits unless you are taking a personally owned gun with you for hunting or shooting.
Taking it apart does not solve the problem since whatever piece has the serial number is considered a gun under US Federal law.
Diplomats and consular people can do all sorts of things that others cannot.

Why would you want to ship a rifle from the U.S. to Pakistan? There is so much military surplus (both NATO and Warsaw pact) in circulation there you should have no problem getting one.

Tell you what, grab a flashlight and some hiking boots and go to the border with India. Chances are you could probably find a lot of rifles the Pakistani soldiers dropped while fleeing from the Indian army during the last border war. :)

Ok, so it means I probably need a Diplomat coming home to Pakistan and ask him to bring one in for me.

What about American soldiers ? are they allowed to bring extra weapons with them when they are being shipped ? I have several friends in the US Army and one in the USMC who are in Afghanistan. And go from US TO AFG. frequently. Can they bring an extra weapon with them ?

No. I wish we were.

(IF they are it is logged into the armory... and goes back with it.)

In all honesty... you can get one locally easier than from the US.

I am sure there are arms smugglers who would be able to get you anything you want, but unless Afghan prisons are nicer than ours, you might not want to go that route. I am assuming you want to obtain rifles legally; illegal is another story and I know nothing about that kind of thing in Afghanistan.

What are the laws in Afghanistan about dealing in sporting arms? Most countries that allow hunting also allow sales of shotguns and hunting type rifles, even though they may ban or restrict sales of handguns or other weapons. Mostly, dealers in foreign arms can be found in large cities, such as the capital, and even in countries with a local arms making capability, will import and sell foreign arms. For example, Remington does a large export business and their products can be found all over the world.

For the Remington, I suggest an e-mail asking them if they have a distributor or dealers in Afghanistan. If they do, contact a dealer. If not, you may be out of luck.

Not knowing your immigration status, it may not even be possible for you to acquire a rifle, legally, here. One must have an INS551 card (aka: Green Card) in order to purchase weapons here in the US. Just FYI

According to the 'Ship out of the U.S.' link on the Gunparts site, Pakistan is on the U.S. government's 'restricted' list. No parts can be shipped there, for sure. I doubt firearms, of any kind, can be either. You'd need a U.S. export permit, that requires a Pakistani import permit to get, at the very least, for an AR-15.
