I went to one of those box stores to ship a shotgun barrel that I sold to a guy out of state.

The guy at the store said he could not ship it and I needed a license. First I've heard of this.

Is this true because I have done it a lot. He also said you cannot ship pistol grips etc. No gun parts unless going to manufacture.

I call BS on this.

BD,
You've now seen living proof in the form of the clerk/jerk why brothers and sisters shouldn't marry.

yeah....right......put it in a big box and go to the post office, or just tell the guy it is a metal pipe that somebody needs to finish a job.

Bring it in pre boxed, declare it as precision machined parts. Truthfull that is what it is. Or just get you own ups account and print your own labels yourself. No charge for the account. Just drop it off at a ups store and your done. Or give it to a ups driver if you see one.

I shipped a barrel back to Cole. They sent it to me first with just the name Cole on the package (they dropped the gunsmithing part). I sent it back after I sold the gun I was gonna use it on unexpectedly and shipped it back to (just) Cole and told UPS it was golf clubs. I'm pretty certain you can lie all ya want to the dude behind the counter at UPS without issue.

You could also mail it. Its only a part. Np problem as long as it's in the U.S.

The only questions I've had the US Postal Service ask me was if the item was fragile, liquid, perishable, hazardous, or otherwise prohibited from mailing. Simple answer: "No."

Easy.

I've never had UPS or FedEx ask what the content of my parcels were.
