"shooter" hat?

I use boonie hats too for shooting. Also use them for camping, kayaking and hiking and such to keep the sun off my head. Really helpful for me in North Carolina weather when I am used to a much cooler climate of England, but been using them for 15 years now.

You can just get one with a shorter brim for shooting, or it wouldn't be too difficult to make a couple of slots to slide an ear protecters band through them.

I wear a fedora almost every day (I forgot it this morning!), and love it for keeping shaded and dry (and making me look as cool as I really am), but for shooting, you can't beat a boonie hat. Fold the sides up for your earmuffs, and all is good.

Either a bandana or a military like boonie hat. I love my boonie hat and I have a full head of hair.
