Yesterday, my shooting society was invited by another, in Valais, to shoot at the Finhaut (which can be translated by End-high in english) Shooting range, located up high at approx 1500m on breath taking mountain side !
A really wonderfull site, which I will always remember (and I hope to go back there next year !)
My friend Ph and myself took 10 guns up there, and were able to shoot many more from friends.
I took an american selection of guns.. A M16A4 clone, a Mk12 clone, and a M4, plus my M1 Garand-
Ph had a more eccletic choice.. but WONDEFULL guns too.. A P14 (.303), a French Bertier rifle (8mm) , A spanish Mauser with a muzzlebreak, a Sniper customized K31, an Austrian FAL and finally a Russian Ak-74 (Itvesk)
There were lots of other guns to pick and try.. among them, USM1's, SVT-40, AKSU, Winchester 1894 in 30-30, a variety of Schmidt-Rubin's and SIG's etc etc..
Here are selection of pictures that ph took and that I thought cool to share !
The location
the 4 lanes 300m range with polytronic targets
Part of the guns we had brought up there
My Garand
Ph P14
My Mk12 "clone" and the 1st serie results
I was particulary impressed by the accuracy of my Mk12 clone (we got 7 bullseye in a row at 300m) which I certainly expected, but also by Ph P14 ... The sight is really interesting and I would never had thought it was so accurate !!!
Looking forward to our next shooting trip in our tall hills...!
