Hi all;

Just a note to say SHOOTNG GALLERY's new season is up and running on The Outdoor Channel this week. I KNOW we're still in the Sunday 10:30PM Eastern time slot. I THINK we're also back to the Monday 4PM E and Wednesday midnight E slot.

Our unprecedented high ratings have held through the first season of repeats, so we're all still Happy Campers.

This season we tried to focus on the "take-home" value of the shows, plus strike a few blows for political correctness—once Ted Nugent called us "the ballsiest show on television," what else could I do? Out of 13 shows, I figure there's about 10 with stuff noboody's EVER seen on teevee!

In other SHOOTING GALLERY news, we won two major prizes at the NSSF/Outdoor Writers "Good Shots; Great Stories" competition--a first for the TEQUILA episode and a third for the I'M WITH WALT IDPA episode, in a category previously totally dominated by ESPN programming.

Season 3, we'll begin our transition to HDTV in anticipation of the new all-HDTV Outdoor Channel. Great big cameras, but, man, the images make it worth it.

The new COWBOYS! show is on schedule for a January 2005 premiere (26 episodes of SG; 26 episodes of COWBOYS!...good lord, what was I thinking?), with 5X cowboy action shooting world champion Richard TEQUILA Young hosting.

We're still on target for the first Outdoor Channel Cup national handgun championships in 2005. My current thinking is October at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio. Lots of details still to be worked out (and any one of them can derail us!), but I feel pretty good about this.).

As always, my door's open for comments! Let me know how you like the new season!

That's great news, MB . Having just gotten into SASS and Cowboy shooting last year, I'm looking forward to the Cowboys! shows. Saw your show where you got all duded up and tried your hand at it. Are you still involved ? Do you plan to attend some of the major shoots ? Keep up the great work and hope to see you around.

Watched last night, great show on self defense and laser sights!!
Your show is a must-see at our house, and i do spread the word on the channels lineup to fellow shooters.
Who knows,'we' may be pc agin somday.

I hope/wish.

7 posts!! don't be such a stranger,Michael.

The few times I've been able to catch the show, I've been impressed with the 'different' content. American Shooter and such just never have gotten in to the more tactical aspects of shooting, like lasers and room clearing, and this has been a breath of fresh air.

What would I do different? Better monologues. Better, scripted discussions. In those few episodes I've seen, it seemed almost painful how the people on screen were scrambling for something to say, and how to say it. Might want to do a run-through before the cameras start rolling.

Just my two cents.

COOL!! Just switched to satellite and found your network and show - I can't wait to watch. Keep it up!

VaughnT...

You know, dude, I agree with you. One of the hardest things I've learned in my short tenure is that some people seize in front of a camera. there are some people who teach every single day, and when you put the camera on them they come unstitched. The tough decision has been to go with people who may not be as articulate as some others, but have the spot-on *credibility.*

I'm working on it, though.

Thanks for your thoughts.
