My wife has owned her Taurus 24/7 9mm [4 inch Barrel] for two months now. She is shooting pretty good with it. She likes the 18 available shots. She is getting discouraged because she tends to shoot low a lot. I shoot her gun too, but do not experience this problem. I am not sure if it is the Heine sights, her grip or what. Any advice is sure welcome. Thank you all in advance!

The way I line up my sights on my Mil pro (if I remember exactly right its been 6 months since I shot as Im posted overseas). Was to keep a gap in the heine sights as big as the dots themselves or there abouts, experiment with what works and use that. They are nice once you get used to them and easy to acquire. Also remember (at least on the mil pro) that they aim to point of aim = point of impact and are not meant for a 6 o'clock hold. Hope this helps.

Thank you slabuda!

I am going to have my wife try this. Generally speaking I have been a front sight shooter because I am near sighted and have to wear my glasses most of the time I am shooting. So I am not able to bring the rear sight into focus. My wife does prefer to line up the back sight and your Idea appears to work well when I am holding my Taurus 24/7 .45acp. Personally I do a little better with three dot sights, but the Heine are nice once you adjust to them. Thank you for your help and your service to our country! I hope you have a safe tour of duty!

God Bless!

No thanks needed I do it because I like it. If you want to thank some one thank the Wives, Mothers and Fathers for raising us properly and supporting us while we are away.

And hope the Mrs starts shooting that nice pistol a bit better.

I may pick up a 24/7 Pro/OSS to compliment my Mil Pro when I desire something a bit bigger than a pocket gun as I like .45 ACP so much. Cant beat cocked and locked 12+1 .45 for that price!

slabuda--24/7 OSS

I have checked with every dealer in Omaha and no one can get their hands on one yet. When they come out for sale, I intend to get one. I have a bus load of .45's so I am really torn between the OSS .45 or the 9mm. I am leaning towards the 9mm. I think you will be quite pleased if you get the OSS .45! The OSS looks to be a mighty fine gun!

The Best to You and Yours!

Shooting low is usually caused by one of these causes: Jerking, breaking the wrist down, drooping your head or tightening your grip while pulling the trigger.

Work on trigger control.

As others have mentioned shooting low is often a result of pulling on the trigger when you should be pressing on it.
