I am in Phoenix and aside from our 'local' ranges, I haven't ever been to a range up north. Are there any? I know Payson and Prescott have one, but I would like a little higher elevation because its figging hot. I would go shoot in the wilderness but I want to sight in my 204. I seem to remember hearing abuot a gunsmith in Sedona with a range.

Sedona is usually going to be hotter than Payson or Prescott. Wheretoshoot.org says that the Flagstaff Shooting Association has a public access range that should work.

If trying to really get your 204 dialed in, remember that at higer elevations there will be less aerodynamic drag on the bullets and heavy-for-caliber bullets will stabilize better.

Flagstaff (actually Wynona) has a awesome "secret" range with a target berm, and 200,300,600, and 1000 yard positions.:what:
If you notice, the FSA does not advertise where the range is, it is by "Invatation Only"
There are no target holders or anything and we like to keep it that way so it dosent get trashed.
We use it for Hi-Power Service rifle compatitions on the 3rd sun of the month, the rest of the time it is on USFS land that is open to the public. PM me if you are intrested.

We also have many limestone and basalt quarrys to shoot in.
The north side of the SF Peaks has so much open land we used to have machine gun shoots where we shot at radio controlled drones.

I can drive 15 minutes in any direction from Flag and legally shoot.

Yea, but we got so much wind by 10:00 in the morning you aint even gonna notice it. You gonna be worried about windage, not elevation.

Whats the growth rate up there? I am gonna get my CDL here in the next month or so and I want to move somewhere that isn't expanding quite as fast as the valley lol. My 15 minute drive is now a solid hour....and at least $20 in gas.
