Moving to Illinois just across the river from St Louis, MO (O'Fallon, IL to be exact). Anyone familiar with indoor and outdoor shooting areas near there?? How about gun stores?

Thanks :)

Busch wildlife is an excellent, and cheap range. Out past New Melle, is Reifscheider(sp) which is a -free- open range, with targets provided for free.

guy293, I don't live anywhere near there, but I hear East St. Louis is one big outdoor shooting area. :p

KaceCoyote, a free range, and free targets? You must be giving that Mosin some good workouts, eh? :)

I generally go to Busch Wildlife, myself (I-64 West into St. Charles County, exit at Highway 94, head south, turn R on D and it will be on your left, about 5 miles). Another MO Department of Conservation range is Jay Henges (I-44 South, is in west St. Louis County). The MO Department of Conservation website has exact directions.

For indoor shooting, you won't do much better than Bullz-Eye, on Manchester Road in St. Louis City (I-64 west, Kingshighway south, Left on Manchester, it is on the left).

Edit: changed directions to Busch range, they were incorrect.

Guy,
The benchrest rifle club near wentzville is a very worthy range; it has up to 600 yards to play with. there is a membership fee, but the unvested one is quite reasonable - about $150 the last time I checked. reifsneider has also been visited, yes, it is free. go to the missouri dept. of conservation page on the 'net & you will find a list of ranges. there are several free ones; busch wildlife is a pay-per-visit & is highly regulated; pretty nice, though.

enjoy.
