Once again, a shameless plug.
Check out Belleville Shooting Range . Just a few minutes outside of downtown St. Louis.

Busch wildlife is an excellent, and cheap range. Out past New Melle, is Reifscheider(sp) which is a -free- open range, with targets provided for free.

guy293, I don't live anywhere near there, but I hear East St. Louis is one big outdoor shooting area.

I generally go to Busch Wildlife, myself (I-64 West into St. Charles County, exit at Highway 94, head south, turn R on D and it will be on your left, about 5 miles). Another MO Department of Conservation range is Jay Henges (I-44 South, is in west St. Louis County). The MO Department of Conservation website has exact directions.
For indoor shooting, you won't do much better than Bullz-Eye, on Manchester Road in St. Louis City (I-64 west, Kingshighway south, Left on Manchester, it is on the left).

The benchrest rifle club near wentzville is a very worthy range; it has up to 600 yards to play with. there is a membership fee, but the unvested one is quite reasonable - about $150 the last time I checked. reifsneider has also been visited, yes, it is free. go to the missouri dept. of conservation page on the 'net & you will find a list of ranges. there are several free ones; busch wildlife is a pay-per-visit & is highly regulated; pretty nice, though.

High Caliber Range down I55 at Arnold is brand new. www.hcrange.com
Also Top Gun at Imperial exit is brand new. Both very nice indoor ranges. Only 1 exit apart from each other.
