Great thing... second time at the range (9 YO). Hank put'n 'em all in the black with iron sites at 25 yards. Some weekender hunter "sighting in"... read " trying to remember how this thing works" pop'n off .308s next to us... Didnt faze the little guy a bit.... I even asked him if he was troubled by the big bad man next to us that wasnt able to nail ****e with glass on his stick... " I didnt even notice him".

:D Son #1 is one of those "armed" airline pilots. Son #2 shot expert at Parris Island -- a pesty sand fly distracted him from Series High Shot. Daughter outshoots both of 'em because she listened to Dad and understands it's a Zen "form". They don't live with me anymore but several nieces and nephews will be "corrupted" by their "crazy" uncle. You just have to do it one at a time and, if possible, groups like Scouts and 4H. Work, work, work. . . .

I take Karis (14) , Thaddaeus (11), and Joshua (9) to Red Castle (north of Tulsa) about once a month. Occasionally we see teenagers with other families. Hannah (5 soon to be 6) has recently been asking to go. She will go soon I think.

I teach them muzzle control like I am a freek. Some days around the house it is "don't point your toy guns at each other day" Then we point out when anyone swept someone with their muzzle. It really raises their saftey awareness.

I have also taken my nephews/niece with their parents permission to the range.
