Hi,

Anyone know where I can get one (or can post a copy) of those "shooting wheels"/charts that show what your shooting errors are i.e. "jerking", "anticipating recoil" etc.

Thanks

Steve

do you actually shoot at these or just use them to diagnose your problems on a target that you already shot?

They are for diagnostic assistance. They help best if you shoot several cover targets on one backing board. Shoot carefully...then asses the results from the backing board because it shows a composite of all previous targets.
Mark.

Very interesting and ostensibly useful. Thanks for posting those.

Can anyone recommend a site that explains the terms used a bit more in depth?

For example, "thumbing"? Breaking wrist up (down)? Etc.

Thanks.

I don't know what "thumbing" is, but breaking the wrist is what you do when you are imitating the recoil of the firearm. Snap your wrist up. Some folks do it right before the shot as an involuntary anticipatory motion. Then some counteract that by breaking the wrist down, instead of up, but that can affect the shot as well.

NB, your description of breaking makes sense to me. Thanks.

Thumbing, anyone?

A guess: attempting to reduce recoil by applying extra pressure with thumb, which pulls down on the rear of the handgun, forcing barrel up?

I dunno...like i said, total guess.

Been painting all night, just chillin' before bed time.

Thumbing is squeezeing to tightly with the thumb which forces the barrel to the right for a RH shooter/left for a LH shooter. Remember these are for a one hand hold.
