Now that I am on long term assignment up here in Mass, I have been having shooting withdrawls.
The public range I have been going to, Smith & Wesson shooting center, has been cutting into my fun money... and they have issues with touching off big loads of black powder indoors. :D

So I went and joined up at Westfield Sportsmans Club today.
I had my afternoon booked up so I didnt get any range time in today.
HOWEVER I am going back tomorrow to spend some quality time with my newest purchases and old friends.
I have stocked up on a bit of ammo, since I have not been shooting much... and plan on getting rid of most/all of in in the most fun way possible.
I wonder how much of my pyrodex will be left when I come home...
As little as possible.

Anyone else looking forward to getting some range time in?

Yes. I'm technically a member ("VIP" member even, woo!) of a range here in Philly, but rarely have time to get there -- I miscalculated my time when I signed up -- so I've actually gotten in more shooting time on occasional weekend visits home from school.

Sometimes I think of getting some toy dart guns just to satisfy the urge to hit something with a target here at my University-owned apartment. (No guns allowed! This being Philly, not even an air pistol, either.)

I got together with about 20 people for a shoot near Oak Ridge Tn. It was great. we met for pizza at Big Ed's first then headed up to the range.

I introduced a couple of the guys to the joys of cap and ball revolvers. I think I ended up putting about 50 rounds of .454 downrange into steel plates.

not to mention the normal auto loaders shooting fmj, a few hundred .22's and about 60 rounds of 7.62x54r out of the Nagant.

It was a big old time.

I am taking both remmie 1858s, the mossberg 500, my star .38 super, and if I get it de-gunked... my Nagant.
I have a lot of steam to let off...

Yup, I plan to do a bit of shooting tomorrow. I stocked up on supplied and am very excited and plan to spend the whole day shooting.

Locally the schools are closed for Presidents Day on Monday so I plan on taking at least one grandson to the club for a shooting session.
Start out with some .22's then a .38 Special.
The boys like Black Powder so a .36 cal. T/C Seneca will fill the bill.
Then I'll spring for lunch.
All in all, a great day.

I cant wait for school to be ut and for my boys to come up.
The club has airgun range, pistol, black powder, high power, and archery ranges...
Also holds kids fishing tournaments...
Nothing like outdoors fun with the kids.
