Finally! I got to shoot an 80-round Highpower Match across the course Sunday. I definitely need more practice shooting at 600 yards, I only shot a 189-1X! ;) Sorry, had to get that out. Now back to being humble...

The match was held at Nashua Fish and Game Ass'n in Merrimack, NH. I had a great time. It was my fourth or fifth ever Highpower match (counting the 2 I shot when I was 15), second with my AR-15 and first away from my home range. The guys and gals there were great. Even the damp weather didn't dull their enthusiasm. I cannot say enough kind words about the people there. Thanks to anybody who was there, it was an awesome experience.

My shooting was good enough to put me in 4th overall out of the roughly 25-30 shooters there. I had my first clean during my 2nd 2-rapid and missed cleaning the first string by maybe 1/2". Needless to say, those observing me made a few comments, not the least of which was "You seem to be going straight from Master-Unclassified to Master-Classified." And when discussing my 600 string a comment I made elicited a "Yep, he'll make High Master someday, he's already got the attitude!"

Needless to say, I am psyched about this experience. And I cannot wait for the privelege of getting to shoot next to any other members of this board and their colleagues. It would be a pleasure.

Thanks for listening to my mini-rave,
~Nathan

Great job, Nathan! When all your non-standing scores are consistently in the High Master realm and your Standing is in the Expert realm, you can start expecting that Master card any day. Push for that, andd at 600 make sure you have a great NPA, relax, and stay on top of the wind. Good luck to you!
